Ted and Kate’s Wedding at the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, MA

Weather is second only to available light on a wedding photographer’s list of “things to lose sleep over.” Weather is a very limiting factor as it can dictate where, when, and how long you have to photograph a couple on their wedding day. This can be especially difficult when you are at one of your favorite locations, like the Beauport Hotel in Gloucester, MA. On the day of Ted and Kate’s wedding, the remnants of Hurricane Jose had finally made their way to Massachusetts. Throughout the day there were frequent downpours and strong winds. It was a seemingly impossible day for this awesome couple to go outside for the photography they had wanted of their special day. But with a close eye on the sky, we were able to take advantage of every opportunity the weather gave us. Were it not for Ted and Kate’s extraordinary patience and the Beauport’s more than ideal beach front location, it may not have turned out this way. However, as a seasoned photographer I know I better have more than a few tricks up my sleeve for capturing the dynamic and creative images I am known for regardless of rain, sleet, wind, or snow. Because of the erratic weather on their wedding day, Ted and Kate were able to get the best of both worlds. I hope they enjoy their wedding photos as much as I enjoyed capturing them.
