Steffen and Deana Loon Pond Lodge Wedding in Lakeville, MA

On the morning of Steffan and Deana’s fall wedding, no one could have imagined the day would turn out as beautiful as it did. It had already been an unseasonably wet autumn, and it was promising a lot more of the same. Even as I was preparing to make the trip to Loon Pond Lodge to photograph Steffan and Deana’s wedding, it was grey clouds and seemingly endless rain. But as the morning grew longer, the clouds began to give way to blue skies, and the possibility of sunshine began to emerge. I cannot think of a couple more deserving of this remarkable stroke of good fortune. Steffen and Deana are an incredible pair, and two of the nicest people I have ever met. It is no wonder they found each other. Thanks to the serendipitous change in meteorological events, I was able to capture a collection of beautiful images set against the backdrop of some stunning fall foliage. It is no accident when a couple plans a New England fall wedding. Autumn is the pride of the northeast as far as seasons go, and it is usually a safe bet that you will not be rained out. That is why I am sure the early morning storms caused Steffen and Deana some anxiety; however, their unmistakable joy was never overshadowed by the threatening weather. And while it may have induced some unnecessary stress early in the day, the remnants of the rain left us with unique opportunities to capture some creative wedding photography, such as reflection shots in rain puddles, panos against dramatic blue skies with billowy clouds, and scores of autumn leaves freshly blown to the grown, which of course we gladly used for some fun high angle and backlit shots. I enjoyed every moment documenting Steffen and Deana’s wedding day, and I hope they enjoy their wedding photography as much as I enjoyed capturing it.
