Fall Wedding at Bittersweet Farm in Westport MA
It was evident by the emotion and love that Kevin and Erin truly like being around each other and those who were there truly wanted to be part of the wedding. We started doing some getting-ready shots at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in New Bedford. It is really fun to document the whole day and tell the story of their wedding. Although they wanted to travel together on the trolly, to do the first look before we got to the ceremony, they did not see each other. It made for some fun images to have Kevin blindfolded. The location to do the first look and formals was simply amazing. With the water, soft light, and a rustic barn. I have shot well over 1500 weddings in my life but have never been to Bittersweet Farm in Westport MA. It really lends itself amazingly to photography. Every direction you turn my camera there is an amazing background to work with. Whether it be the rustic porch and reception hall or the wide-open fields with the big blue skies, you simply can’t go wrong. We even had great light to work with. I can not remember watching two people have more fun at their ceremony than Kevin and Erin. The rest of the evening was filled with fun, dance a laughter. It was the perfect combination of documentary, photojournalistic photography, and fun creative portraits. I am so glad I got to be part of their day. This job is a whole lot easier when you genuinely like the people you’re photographing. I truly believe it shows in the photography.
