To be a wedding photographer, it is crucial that you have an adventurous spirit. The fate of a couple’s wedding memories rests in your hands. Playing it safe with the photography only gurantees they will end up with images that fail to stand the test of time. When a couple hires you to document their special day, they are putting their trust in you to create imagery that reflects who they are in the most exciting way possible. That is why it is important to understand each person’s comfort level so you will know how far to go with the adventure. Needless to say, the more adventurous the client the better the photography. I cannot imagine a more perfet example of this than Tom and Melissa at their Nahant Country Club wedding. After shooting their engagement photography, I already knew they are comfortable in front of the camera and are open to just about any ideas I had. So, when their wedding day rolled around, I was excited to include some of my more daring shots into the mix. There are very few brides who are willing to walk along sea walls in heels or lay in the grass while wearing a wedding dress. But Melissa was not most brides, and was ready to try anything. And Tom was right along with her. The results are some truly inspired images that capture this fun loving couple experiencing the joy of their wedding day, something they can cherish for the many years to come.
