Winter Wedding at The Viking Newport Rhode Island
As a wedding photographer, it should come as no surprise that I am not much of a word smith; therefore, writing about each wedding does not always come effortlessly. But thanks to the unpredictable New England weather, I often have an interesting story to tell relating back to our climate. Take for instance, Mike and Kelley’s February wedding at Hotel Viking in Newport, RI. The Northeast had made it through winter thus far relatively unscathed. So, it was a shock to everyone when the forecast turned bleak for Mike and Kelley’s wedding. As the day grew closer, reality set in that they would be exchanging vows amidst the season’s first blizzard. While anyone would be reasonably shaken by this turn of events, Mike and Kelley remained completely unfazed. Not even the fury of a Northeast winter storm could distract them from their joyful day. And what better way to symbolize the strength of their bond than by defying a force of nature with a fantastic celebration. If Mike and Kelley could weather this storm to pull of a beautiful Newport wedding, they will easily get through all of life’s curve balls thrown their way.
