Winter Wedding at the Red Lion Inn in Cohassett, MA
The winter season in New England poses many unique challenges for a wedding photographer. The greatest of these is unpredictable weather, which makes for an unpredictable day. And nothing makes a wedding photographer more anxious than an unpredictable day. While the weather forecast leading up to David and Meghan’s wedding was shakier than the proverbial wedding-day-jitters, I knew one thing was certain: I was really going to enjoy working with this couple. I had the opportunity to meet David and Meghan while photographing Meghan’s brother, James, and her best friend, Lauren’s, wedding the year before. So, I knew how fun and enthusiastic this group was going to be. The entire day took place at the Red Lion Inn in Cohassett, MA. The elegant, French country inspired Inn offered no shortage of interesting settings to serve as the ideal backdrop for creative and unique photography. When the unpredictable New England weather proved too challenging to shoot other locations, we explored the grounds and discovered some of the Inn’s best kept secrets, like the sun drenched Salon du Soleil where we shot both getting ready images of the bride and more formal photos of the bridal party. I couldn’t have asked for a better couple. The wedding photography was a combination of great, photo journalistic, interesting, unique, fun wedding photos.
