If you are from Boston, you know about the Colonnade Hotel. Situated in the heart of the city, the Colonnade is more than just another hotel. It is a Boston institution. It is classy, elegant, and luxurious, which is everything you can expect of a wedding that takes place there. And that is exactly what Michael and Samantha got for theirs. Even before the day arrived, the incredible staff at the Colonnade were tying up any possible loose ends to make sure Michael and Samantha had a worry free and fun wedding. From start to finish, everything took place at the hotel, alleviating the most stressful part of a Boston wedding: transportation. Bride and groom prepared for their day in separate suits before their first look rendezvous at the hotel’s infamous checkered hallway. It was one of the most heartfelt, emotional first looks of my career, which made for some truly exceptional photojournalistic moments. Those are the kind of photos you can never plan or imitate, no matter how talented or skilled a photographer you are. Afterwards, thanks to the exceptional planning of the wedding coordinator at the Colonnade, we were able to spend a good portion of time capturing the bridal party against what is, in my opinion, an unparalleled view of the city. If you have been to the reflecting pools at Prudential Center, you know what I mean. If not, just take a glimpse at the images below. Once the high humidity and extreme heat of the day took it’s toll on the couple, we headed back to the Colonnade for a respite while waiting on the ceremony to begin. Once Michael and Samantha exchanged their vows during an intimate and emotional ceremony, it was on to the Colonnade’s super impressive rooftop pool for cocktail hour. And what photographer worth their weight wouldn’t take advantage of being roof top in Prudential Center to get a few more shots of the newly weds? Thanks to Chef Nick, we were able to access the most exclusive part of the hotel: the Colonnade sign. It was here we captured some incredible iconic images of the couple and hotel to commemorate what turned out to be their perfect wedding day.
